Gladiators Fight Nights & More

I’ve been photographing combat sports since 2009, when a good friend asked if I’d cover an event he was organizing. I said yes—and I haven’t looked back since.

That first opportunity turned into an enduring commitment. Sixteen years later, I’m still shooting his events, now known as Gladiators Fight Nights, and through them, many more doors have opened.

Events I’ve Covered

  • 31 editions of Gladiators Fight Nights

  • 6 editions of Gladiators Amateurs Fight Nights

  • 1 Smash 8 – Guinness World Record event

  • 2 events in Sicily

  • 1 MKBA Malta Nationals

  • 1 Valkyries event

  • 1 ISKA AMA European Championships 2025

Breaking Down the Disciplines

Kickboxing

A full-contact sport blending powerful punches and kicks.

K-1

A hybrid combat system combining karate, kickboxing, Savate, and Muay Thai.

Muay Thai

A striking art from Thailand known as the “art of eight limbs.”

Boxing

A pure punching sport, demanding skill, timing, and strategy.

What It’s Like to Shoot Fight Nights

It’s a challenging job—fast-paced, unpredictable, and often messy. Sweat, blood, and emotion are all part of the equation.

Low light conditions often push ISO settings from 3200 up to 16,000. I aim for a shutter speed of 1/1000, with aperture settings between f/2.8 and f/4. Eye detection and continuous burst mode are essential tools in my workflow.

The Photo Count? Thousands.

Only the best make the final cut—sharp strikes, emotional moments in the corners, behind-the-scenes candids, and victorious celebrations.

It Starts Before the Fight

I always shoot the press conference and weigh-ins the day before—key moments that reveal the personalities and psychological games behind each bout.

It Doesn’t End After the Final Bell

Post-fight, I visit Team Noel Gym to photograph the fighters and coaching team. These portraits are used for portfolios, posters, and media coverage.

Final Round

Sixteen years in, and I still feel the same rush stepping into each venue. Combat sports photography is more than freezing motion—it’s about telling stories, capturing grit, and preserving moments that disappear in a second.

Thanks to everyone—fighters, promoters, trainers, and fans—who’ve welcomed me into this world. The journey continues, and I’ll keep telling the story one frame at a time.
